Bios:

Eddie Healy began playing guitar at the age of 13. He attended Eastfield College before completing his Bachelor of Music in classical guitar performance at The University of North Texas. He subsequently completed a Master of Music degree at Southern Methodist University.

He is the Coordinator of Guitar and Music Theory Studies at the Eastfield campus of Dallas College in Mesquite, TX. He has also taught at the Gray School of Music since 2002. Eddie is the director of the Brookhaven-Allegro Guitar Orchestra, a community guitar ensemble in Dallas that meets and performs regularly at Brookhaven College. He has served as the assistant festival director at the Texas International Guitar Competition/Festival since 2010 and is director of the festival’s youth competition. Additionally, he serves as the Director of Education at the annual Houston Classical Guitar Festival and Competition. In 2016 Healy founded the High School Guitar Program Showcase at Eastfield College which has become an annual event.

Eddie performs regularly in the Dallas/Fort Worth metroplex. He has also performed live on WRR-Classical 101.1. He traveled to Spain in 2008 for a series of concerts and twice to Mexico in 2009 to perform at the 19th Annual International Guitar Festival of Morelia and the 4th Festival Internacional de Guitarra Ramón Noble. He has appeared on national television and radio programs in Hidalgo, Mexico. Healy returned to Spain in 2014 on the faculty of the annual ChamberArt Madrid Festival and has begun to participate regularly alongside his students and his duet partner, mezzo-soprano Brandi Estwick.

His original compositions have been performed all over the world. He has composed the theme to a series of podcasts produced by The University of Texas at Dallas titled “A Conversation With…”, scores for several video games produced by the UTD Arts and Technology Video Game Lab, and the alma mater for Rogers Middle School in Prosper, Texas. In 2012 Healy released a CD consisting exclusively of his compositions titled, Direction. James Scott of minor7th.com said that the recording, “…is a triumph, offering the listener accessible compositions matched by immaculate performances.” He published the sheet music for several of the compositions from Direction with Joachim-Trekel of Hamburg, Germany in 2010 and has seven publications with Les Productions d’OZ to date. Eddie is a member of ASCAP.

Mezzo soprano Brandi Estwick has enjoyed great success as a performer and educator, and community outreach advocate. Based in Dallas, TX, Estwick is a champion for the continued cultivation of the musical arts at all levels of education from elementary school through higher education. She was a member of The Dallas Opera’s Education and Outreach program from 2014-2018, which allowed her to  share her love of opera with elementary school students throughout the Dallas metroplex. Estwick also serves as the assistant director of the Brookhaven-Allegro Guitar Orchestra, a community guitar ensemble comprised of classical guitarists ranging in age from high school to retiree. Along with guitarist Eddie Healy, Estwick co-directs this community orchestra that strives to create an engaging and inspirational educational experience. The orchestra exposes its members to an eclectic mixture of repertoire ranging from the Baroque era to modern era compositions and arrangements by contemporary guitarists including members of the L.A.G.Q., Mark Anthony Cruz, and Eddie Healy.

As a professional voice and guitar duo, Estwick and Healy perform an array of Spanish and Latin American repertoire, including the works of Granados, Falla, Lorca, Guastavino, and Ginastera. The duo has enjoyed a string of successful performances throughout the Dallas/Fort Worth metroplex, Houston, Oklahoma City, and Madrid, Spain. As faculty and performing artists in the annual ChamberArt Madrid Festival, Estwick and Healy have performed in historic venues including the Ateneo de Madrid, and the Museo de América.

Estwick holds a B.M. and a M.M. in Voice Performance from Texas Woman’s University, and a D.M.A. in Voice Performance from The University of North Texas.
