Linda Anderson: PhD Thesis Exhibition
“Tempest in a Teapot, Exploring Drawing into Painting” combines this historical phrase referencing political turmoil, the Boston tea Party, with 10 works painted with boiling hot colors on canvas in the Texas summer heat during the pandemic in her small confined space.
Margie DeBosier: PhD Thesis Exhibition
“The Story Portrait, A New Genre of Personal Representation” is an artform that melds visual and verbal in an effort to go beyond the depiction of physical appearance at a single moment by also providing insight into the subject’s character.
Carlin Flores: MFA Thesis Exhibition
“From Worlds” explores the “Worlds” we experience and how that impacts the “Worlds” we create. Using a volley of unpredictable materials, Flores sculpts the fluidity of organisms that might just inhabit those “other” worlds.
M.D.J.Kies: PhD Exhibition
“I Know It When I See It” Mastodon Farm’s work explores the haptic nature of fiber art objects, the tradition of nude imagery, and the “thingness” of objects, to reassess and reapply perspectives on how we culturally read sexually explicit artworks.
