RSO principal clarinetist Kwanghoon Yi performs Mozart’s Clarinet Concerto, full of radiant joy and meditative serenity. Richard Strauss’ passionate masterpiece of music for the theatre closes the concert. This neoclassical nine-movement suite demonstrates a composer at the height of his powers and in a playful mood by poking merciless fun at the ‘Would-be Gentleman’ of the title.
