Venues: Heights Village, CityLine Plaza, Richardson Public Library and Four Bullets Brewery.
From sidewalk chalk art at Heights to yarn storming at the library, Ricochet will kick off with a proclamation delivered by Richardson Mayor Paul Voelker at Heights at 10am, followed by musical artists, a poetry slam, and more.Chalk artists will be drawing images based on the Coraline movie as well as other Laika Entertainment films: ParaNorma, The Boxtrolls and Kubo and the Two Strings. These films will all be shown during October at Alamo Drafthouse as part of Ricochet’s first mini-film festival. One movie, each Saturday. The library will host a “paint your own rock” table in the Reading Garden, the yarn storming (what will be covered this year?!), plus there will be engaging performances by Richardson Theatre Centre, a trio from the Richardson Symphony Orchestra, the Plano Community Band, and other surprises.
CityLine will delight “Ricocheters” in the plaza area with an art chair exhibit, public art walk, musicians, Circus Freaks and plenty of options for food and beverages.
Four Bullets Brewery hosts the Creativity on Tap art show along with a very special pint glass in honor of the day boasting the winning tweet (it’s all about the beer) from the Ricochet Twitter contest. There will also be a food truck, music and the usual brewery camaraderie.
