Concert #4: Fight Against Hunger

Concert #4: Fight Against Hunger

at St. Barnabas Presbyterian Church

Concert #4 will feature five incredible artists in Richardsonwith unforgettable music and awareness to help fight against hunger.

CMI is collaborating with Music for Food, a Boston-based organization that works to share awareness of the fight against hunger through music. They connect concert presenters with food pantries nationwide and share parts of the proceeds from the concerts with local food banks. For Concert #4, CMI will donate fifty percent of its single ticket sales to The Network, a Richardson group founded in 1985 with the mission of “caring, coaching, and empowering neighbors in need as they seek an improved quality life”. CMI is adamant about spreading the message that one in six Americans struggle with hunger. Music for Food puts it best that “music has the power to call forth the best in human beings and can inspire awareness and action when artists and audiences work together”.

Concert #4 will feature 2014-2015 CMI Artist of the Season, Violinist Paul Rosenthal, local violinist, Clare Cason, a prominent Scottish Violist Paul Coletti, Award-Winning Cellist, Bion Tsang, and 1997 Van Cliburn Winner Jon Nakamatsu. The concert will begin with Mozart’s Duo for Violin and Viola in G Major, Jon Nakamatsu will tickle the ivories with his version of Schubert's Four Impromptu for Solo Piano, and conclude with the outstanding Franck’s Piano Quintet in F Minor.  All of the classical chamber ensembles showcase the Artists’ gifted musicality and technical abilities.

We hope to see you (and your canned foods) on March 7!
