The concert features music made popular by the likes of Stan Kenton, Duke Ellington, Glenn Miller, and Count Basie.

Trumpet soloist for the evening is Micah Bell. Micah received a Bachelor of Music Education degree from TCU in 2007 and a Masters in Trumpet Performance in 2009.  As an educator, Mr. Bell has been a very active clinician in the DFW Metroplex teaching jazz and trumpet master classes as well as private lessons since 2004. He is currently a faculty member of the University of Texas at Tyler.

Vocal soloist will be Candy McComb.  Ms. McComb is the Associate Choir Director at Sachse High School.  She taught for seventeen years at Austin Academy for Excellence in GISD, where her choirs were selected as honor choirs at the Texas Music Educators Association on two occasions. Candy also co-directed the Garland ISD All City Boys Choir for ten years, and they also sang at TMEA in 2003. Candy attended Texas Tech University on a voice scholarship. She is a member of TCDA, ACDA, TMAA and TMEA and serves as a clinician and adjudicator around the state.
