The Southwestern Watercolor Society (SWS) is pleased to announce its 52nd Annual Member Exhibition beginning September 2 through September 27, 2015 to be held at the Eisemann Center, 2351 Performance Dr. Richardson, Texas. The awards ceremony and reception is Sunday, September 20th from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm at the Eisemann Center.

Mike Bailey is this year’s juror for the exhibit. From the late 90’s into the mid 2000’s, Mike Bailey taught for the University of California at Santa Cruz a class entitled “Watercolor: Beyond the Obvious.” That class was conceived and developed by him for Intermediate and Advanced watercolor painters. The course was focused on the elements and principles of design and composition. Because of its success at the University, word spread about the content of the curriculum and is now the basis of week-long workshops centered on the same disciplines. Mike and his work have been featured in a number of books and magazines written about watercolor painting and color theory. Such appearances include Watercolor Magazine, Watercolor Artist Magazine, The Art of Watercolor Magazine (France).
