The Forrest and Virginia Green Mezzanine Gallery will be home to the artwork of Danny Rose for the next two months. MAJIC EYES is a collection of paintings created from the beginning of 2016 through now. These works were inspired from a combination of travels including the deserts of New Mexico, the valleys and mountains of Northern California, and the jungles and islands of South Asia. As the artist travels, a keen eye is kept on the land and sky searching for shapes and colors that cause him to pause. Using a small notebook he quickly puts down quick studies of fleeting ideas, and later re-visits and organizes parts. The images are partly created from the places seen and partly from a form of automatic drawing and painting. Travel plays an important role in the work, and allows the artist to focus on the meditative practice of looking for these shapes.
Danny Rose lives and works in Dallas, Texas. He has exhibited throughout Texas and parts of Asia. He was recently included in a group show at The Beeville Museum of Art titled TEXAS ARTISTS and at the Ro2 Gallery in a group show titled CHAOS.
