The UT Dallas Chamber Singers and students from Advanced Voice present Night Songs, music from the renaissance to modern times about the mystery and beauty of the night, including works by Renaissance composers Weelkes, Byrd, Bateson and Vautor; romantic composers Brahms, Schubert and Schumann; and modern composers Barber, Cole Porter and show tunes from hit Broadway shows. This concert is FREE to all! Come and enjoy the “music of the night”.
The UT Dallas Chamber Singers is a performing ensemble of 20-24 singers directed by Kathryn Evans. The repertoire for the ensemble is selected from a broad range of chamber vocal literature, including both sacred and secular music spanning the Renaissance to the contemporary periods of music history and modern jazz arrangements.
Past concerts have included “A Tribute to the Beatles,” “Best of Broadway,” “Something Wicked This Way Comes,” “Over the Rainbow: A Tribute to Harold Arlen,” “A Tribute to the Manhattan Transfer,” “All Mozart Concert,” “Swing Thing,” “Birds, Beasts and Bugs,” “A Victorian Christmas,” and “A Celebration of Monteverdi.”
